PAPILLION POLICE DEPARTMENT – IN PROGRESS
Omaha, NE | Estimated Completion: Fall 2026
4,750 sq. ft. Renovation | 9,300 sq. ft. New
As one of the fastest growing cities in Nebraska, Papillion has outgrown its police facility originally constructed more than 25 years ago. CWP partnered with the Papillion Police Department to evaluate the existing building and identify opportunities for strategic expansion. The assessment confirmed the facility remains well maintained, centrally located, and well suited for growth on its current site.
Working closely with department leadership, CWP developed a plan for targeted additions and renovations that preserve much of the existing structure while improving functionality, workflow, and long-term capacity. Renovations include updates to the investigations department, patrol workroom, clerical spaces, and existing staff offices, along with additional offices to support varying levels of personnel. Public-facing improvements include updated restrooms and a new secure main entry.
New additions expand the facility’s capabilities with enhanced evidence storage, updated fitness and locker areas, a community meeting and multi-agency training room, and dedicated spaces for drone operations, K-9 units, e-bike storage, and departmental equipment. A new storage building houses drone equipment, UTVs, trailers, and other vehicles, while site improvements include an upgraded parking lot, a new entry plaza, updated landscaping, and improved stormwater management. A dedicated vehicle display for the department’s 1957 Chevy Bel Air cruiser is also incorporated into the site.
Currently under construction, the project reflects a fiscally responsible approach that maximizes the value of the existing facility while strategically expanding to meet the future needs of the Papillion Police Department.
Construction is anticipated to be completed in Fall 2026.
