Heritage at Legacy

Omaha, NE | December 2015
146,570 sq. ft.

The Heritage at Legacy provides an environment that enriches the living experience and promotes physical and psychological health of its residence. As a repeat client, Heritage Communities worked closely with CWPA to design a distinguished facility that allows long term care residents to stay in the comfort and familiarity of a residential setting to avoid relocation to a sterile hospital environment. To expand the community’s marketability, traditional and contemporary elements were combined to create an inviting ambiance that attracts a large array of residents. Shared common area spaces including a coffee shop, pub, dining and living areas, wellness center, game room, and community room create a community setting which meets the changing needs of seniors while offering them a sophisticated place to live and play.

The Memory Care portion of the building houses residents who require assistance associated with daily living tasks including those managing early Alzheimer’s, dementia, and other cognitive deficiencies. Addressing social, physical, and cognitive needs of the residents, this facility is designed to meet the needs of the emerging retirement population, promote socializing, yet allow for privacy.

Great efforts were made to involve surrounding business neighbors in the planning of the community in order to be sensitive and proactive to the changing demographic of the area. This planning coordination led to the addition of an underground parking structure to fit the tight limits of the site.
