Community Corrections Center – Lincoln, Women’s Housing & Visitation Center
Lincoln, NE | March 2019
57,018 sq. ft.
CWP partnered with the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services to design and expand the Community Corrections Center–Lincoln, addressing the need for improved facilities and separation of male and female populations. The project provides two 80-bed women’s housing pods, each with two-person rooms arranged around shared dayrooms, along with dedicated dining, health services, and program areas.
The design integrates natural light, warm materials, and local artwork to promote a restorative, human-centered environment for residents and staff. Spaces are adaptable for programming, education, and community reintegration activities such as GED classes, counseling, and job preparation.
The expansion also supports hands-on skill development through new workshops, industrial kitchen areas, and outdoor landscaping. The women’s housing component features classrooms, case management workspaces, laundry facilities, and a visitation center with a playground—offering a safe, supportive setting for family connection and rehabilitation.
