Bellevue Public Safety Facility
Bellevue, NE | 2014
64,000 sq. ft. – Renovation
4,000 sq. ft. – New Construction
As Bellevue’s population and city services expanded, the City sought to consolidate its fragmented departments into a single, modern facility. CWP provided a feasibility study evaluating multiple options for new construction and renovation, ultimately leading to the purchase and adaptive reuse of an existing office building in a central location.
The new Public Safety Facility brings together the Police Department—previously spread across five sites—with Public Works, Planning, and Permits and Inspections. Interior demolition and complete reconstruction created efficient, secure, and sustainable workspaces, featuring high-density evidence storage, flexible meeting and training rooms, and modern technology throughout.
Program spaces include areas for Police Administration, Investigations, Patrol, Records, Cyber Crime, SWAT, and K-9, as well as a defensive training room that doubles as a tornado shelter. The facility strengthens interdepartmental collaboration and enhances the City’s ability to serve its residents more effectively.
